Friday, August 25th at 6:30pm. • Chip timing! • Tech shirt guaranteed for everyone that pre-registers. • Your entrance fee will include a wrist band for *FREE* beer! Support local parks and recreation at the Seventh Annual Bloomingdale Parks Foundation Sunrise Shuffle 5K, presented by Sunrise Chevrolet! The Sept. 9 run is a kick-off event for Bloomingdale’s 44th Annual Septemberfest and starts and ends at the Johnston Recreation Center. The Sunrise Shuffle 5K is part of the AMITA Health 5K Breakfast Series. The Sunrise Shuffle 5K is family friendly. In addition to the 5K, the race also features a Bounce House for children to play in before, during and after the race! Weather permitting. The course is fast and flat, utilizing residential streets with police traffic control. It is well marked with signs and painted streets. Accurate splits at 1 and 2 miles with water at the second mile. Restrooms are available for men and women. USA Track & Field Certifiction #IL12160JW

 

Participants will receive a shirt sleeve T-shirt and will enjoy a variety of refreshments after the race. This year’s shirt has another unique multi-colored design. T-shirts guranteed to all pre-registered participants.

Run the Woods 5k, 8k trail run, & 1 mile walk @ The Timber Pointe Outdoor Center

Run the Woods is a unique run that takes place on the trails surrounding the Easterseals Camp at Timber Pointe. The beautiful setting, right on Lake Bloomington, draws over 200 runners and is included on the Lake Run Club’s circuit. A 5K and 8K option are both offered, as well as a 1-mile hike. All runners receive a long-sleeved T-shirt and post-race pancake breakfast with registration. Enjoy the beautiful outdoors, while supporting the kids at Timber Pointe Outdoor Center. Register today! Early packet pickup is available from 4-6 p.m. on October 6 at Often Running in Normal. Packet pickup is available on race day from 7:30-8:45 a.m. Start time 9am.

7th Annual Holy Family Shuffle @ Holy Family School

The Holy Family Shuffle is a 3 mile course that runs the same route as the famous Turkey through the streets of Oglesby. Runners are electronically timed. Mile splits are provided, and there is one water station at mile 2. Cost is $20.00 if registered by 09/29/17 and $25.00 after 09/29/17, including race day. Pre-registered runners are guaranteed a T-shirt. Family special-4 or more from one family in one envelope (ADVANCE only-must be received by 09/29/17)- $65.00-limited to immediate family in the same household. There will be free drinks and snacks after the race as well as a kids fun run. Kids fun run is $10 & includes a T-shirt if pre-registered. Check in begins at 8:30 a.m. in the school gym. Please mail registration and check to Holy Family School. Awards will be given to the top overall male and female finishers, the top Holy Family School students, male and female, and the top 3 in each age division. Connie Dzierzynski Skerston Memorial 5K Run/Walk Scholarship Fundraiser @ IVCC campus

This 3rd annual event honors the memory of Connie Dzierzynski Skerston, who passed away unexpectedly from a brain aneurysm at the age of 45 on March 5th 2015. Connie enthusiastically served Illinois Valley Community College (IVCC) for 16 years in administration. A scholarship has been founded in her name to preserve her educational legacy and passion for working with and helping young minds in the Illinois Valley. 100 percent of the entry fee goes to the scholarship fund. The race begins and ends on the campus of IVCC and will include a mixed running surface. Registration fee is $25.00 if received by 10/7 ($30.00 after 10/7). Fee includes a T-Shirt, water and light snacks. T-Shirt & size guaranteed if entry is received before 10/7. Early packet pick up on 10/12 from 11:00am-2:00pm at IVCC main entrance. Race day registration and packet pick up is from 8:00-9:30am. Timing by Starved Rock Runners, Ltd. Awards for top three male and female finishers in 12 age brackets. There will also be an Untimed 1.5 Mile “Walk In Connie’s Steps” event for non-runners. Halloween Hustle 5K @ Ladd Community Consolidated School

The event is held at the school and has a 5K distance set up, clearly marked through out the Ladd community. Registration is 8-8:45 am the day of the race. Entry fee is $25 ages 14 and up. The fee is reduced to $20 if registered by October 18, 2017. Entry fee is $10 ages 13 and under. To receive a t-shirt you must be pre-registered. There will be awards for the top Male and top Female runner in their age group. 13 and under, 14-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, 70 and older. Best youth and adult costume prizes will also be awarded. The race is timed by Starved Rock Runners. The course is flat utilizing residential streets with police traffic control. Water, restrooms and refreshments will be available. Donations accepted. This is a fundraiser for the Ladd Community Education and Enrichment Foundation to benefit the students of the Ladd CCSD#94.

Canal Connection @ Waltham South Elementary School

All runners will start at 10:00AM this year.

SRRL Crcuit Race.  Race starts at LaSalle Peru High School in LaSalle, Illinois, ends in Utica Illinois. Runners are bused from Utica to LaSalle. This 10 (6.2 miles) race should result in many fast times, as the course features a downhill slope for the first .75 mile streatch. Runners will then enter the I-M Canal Towpath and run the next 4.2 miles on a flat, unpaved surface featuring rock formations and autumn scenery. The race will finish on a paved street near the Waltham South Elementary School in Utica. Split times will be called out at each mile along the course. Two water stations will be available with ambulance crews covering the entire course (the course has been measured by SRRL using Clain-Jones Counter Method. Certification with USATF).

Marquette Academy “The Runners Crusade” 5K Walk/Run @ Marquette Academy High School

This event has previously been held on the 3rd Sat. in June for the past 6 years. Due to heat concerns we are trying the Fall season this year! This is a 5K Walk/Run, Family friendly event, rain or shine. Race starts at 9:00 am, registration starts at 7:30 at the west entrance of the school (1000 Paul St., Ottawa). Race course incorporates parts of Ottawa’s beautiful River Walk and the I & M Canal. Walkers and racers of all ages are welcome. Free tots race (ages 2-8) at 8:30 am. Time and finish line provided by Starved Rock Runners, medals awarded to top 3 in 13 age groups, T-shirts guaranteed to all pre-registered participants. $20 fee by Nov. 3rd, $25 fee after Nov. 3rd. The 3 Mile Run is a Starved Rock Runners, Ltd. Circuit Race. The Oglesby 3 Mile Turkey Trot, begins and ends at Holy Family School, 336 Alice Ave., Oglesby, IL 61348.

Race starts at 9:00AM sharp, regardless of weather.

Registration and packet pick up available Wednesday night from 4:30-6:30 at Holy Family School. Credit and debit Cards accepted. Race Day packet pickup will be from 7:00-8:30AM.

Entry fee is $21.00, $25.00 on Race Day. Family Special (4 or more from immediate family, in the same household, mailed in one envelope, Mail-In ONLY), $60.00.

Free Miller Lite Beer after race (Must be 21 years of age with an ID). Must have wristband-pick-up at registration). Free soda after the race. Free Thanksgiving Dressing after the race. Free cap guaranteed to FIRST 1,000 entrants.

Race is chip timed. No chip, no time!

Awards: Turkey and Plaque to Male and Female Masters and Male & Female Champions.

Preregistration includes your choice of a Red: Long Sleeve T-Shirt, a crew sweatshirt or hoodie, a Santa Hat and Beard. All participants are encouraged to wear their hat and beard (and bells if you have them) in the run/walk, but it is not mandated. There will be water stops at approximately 1 & 2 miles, that will also include Holiday treats (cookies and candy).

The race will start and end in the parking lot of John F. Kennedy School (800 N. Richards, Spring Valley). The course is accurately measured and will be on paved city streets. The course is mostly flat with a few gentle uphills (in the 5K). Traffic control will be posted at all intersections to keep participants safe. Split times available at every mile.

The race will be electronically timed with results to be posted on the Starved Rock Runners web site.

As an added bonus, for each two non-perishable item an entrant brings to donate to the food pantry, their names will be entered into a raffle to be held after the race, with chances to win gift certificates and prizes from race sponsors.The more items you donate, the better your chances of winning (watch the web site as the list of potential winnings grows).

We’re looking to make the race, the prizes and the swag (for those who pre-register), even better than this year.

Awards will be given to the overall Male and Female finishers, as well as the top three finishers (Male and Female), in each of the following age groups: 9 & under, 10-14, 15-19, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69 and 70 and over.

Packet pick up and race day registration will be available from 8:30AM until 9:30AM at John F Kennedy School. Day of registration is not guaranteed a shirt.
