Race Directors can now enter all of the information to have their race listed on the Starved Rock Runner calendar. For your race to be listed, it MUST be a competitive timed event. Meetings are held @ 7:00PM the 3rd Tuesday of every month at Duffy’s in Utica.

The 2019 Winter Iowa Senior Games, presented by Health Alliance Medicare, will be held February 22-24 in the Quad Cities. Men and women ages 50+ can choose from seven sports, including bowling, pickleball, swimming, table tennis, indoor tennis, and indoor track and field.
The indoor track & field meet will be held Saturday, February 23 at the PepsiCo Center on Augustana’s campus in Rock Island. Several running events are offered, including race walk, and standing long jump, high jump, and shot put are offered for field events.

Holy Cross School is excited to announce the 3rd annual Shamrock 5K Run/Walk! The race starts and ends at Holy Cross School. Race will be through the streets of Mendota. No trail running. Registration starts at 8:30a.m. and is located in the Holy Cross School gym and bathrooms are available. The course is USATF certified. The finish line is provided by Starved Rock Runners Ltd. Runners who pre-register by February 25, 2019 will receive a long sleeve t-shirt. Awards will be presented to the 1st overall male and female runners in the 5K and the 1st-3rd places will be awarded medals in each age division for male/female. Remember to wear green! The proceeds benefit Holy Cross School!
This race was formerly the Starved Rock Runner Marathon Relay. In an effort to make this event more of a TEAM event and shorter in duration, the following changes have been made:

A GREAT TEAM EVENT: This is a great team event that creates camaraderie within your team and fun competition between your team and your friends teams. Pick a cool name for your team, and come join in the fun. As always in the races held here, this is a race that celebrates the running life.
COURSE INFORMATION: The course is a 5.24 mile loop on country black top roads. The race starts and ends about 100 yards west of Putnam Country Jr. High School. The race will be chip timed. The times of individual team members will be totaled for a team time to determine the Division winners. T-Shirts guaranteed only to per-registered runners. Chili and soda available after the run. Showers available.
TEAM: Will consist of 5 members (mixer or single gender). Team must complete 5 legs.
COUPLES: Two member, male and female. Each person runs one leg (5.24 miles). Age determined by youngest member.
SOLO: Single person event. Peron runs one 5.24 mile leg

33rd LORI’S WALLEYE RUN 5K – MARCH 24th, 9:00AM @ HALL HIGH SCHOOL IN SPRING VALLEY
Race day registration will be in the lobby at Hall High School (go through the front doors, on the south side of the school, turn left), from 7:30 – 8:30AM
The Course is Certified Distance with Splits at mile 1 and 2. The race will be electronically timed and Computerized Race Results with results posted on Starved Rock Runners web site. There will be a water stops on course just past the 1 and 2 mile points. There will be traffic control on the course. Refreshments will be available after the race. Long Sleeve T-Shirt is only guaranteed to those per-registered by noon on 3/28.
Divisions: Awards & Age Awards will be given to the 1st, 2nd & 3rd place finishers in each age bracket, the Overall Male & Female Finishers, & the top Male and Female Finisher from Spring Valley. Age Divisions: (one each for Male & Female) 9 & under, 10-13, 14-19, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69, 70 and over.

THE COURSE: The race begins and ends in the parking lot of Hall High School. The start line will be in the south east corner of the parking lot, and the end will be very near the sidewalk leading to the front doors of the new school. The course is an out and back. Thanks to volunteers from the Spring Valley Walleye Club, we will have traffic control at every intersection on the course to help keep you safe. While our Race Marshall’s will do everything they can to keep you safe, the race is on city streets, and the streets will not be shut down to traffic, so please be aware of potential traffic.
THE AWARDS CEREMONIES: Will be held in the comfort of the beautiful cafeteria of Hall Hall School, where all of the post race food and refreshments will be.

Come run or walk at the 2nd Annual Dayton Bluffs Preserve Trail 5k/10k Run /Walk. This beautiful property is one to be enjoyed by all. This will be a timed Race!
The 253-acre property is owned by The Conservation Foundation and has been designated as a Land & Water Reserve with the Illinois Nature Preserves Commission. The property is leased to the City of Ottawa, maintained with help from the Friends of the Dayton Bluffs, and preserved for wildlife habitat, nature education, and passive recreational uses, and is great for running, hiking, bird-watching or picnicking!
Starting line will take place at Hank’s Farm restaurant lawn.

Santas On The Run benefits the Hall Township Food Pantry. You can run this 5K for time, or you can do it partake in the Holiday spirit. Preregistration includes your choice of a Red: Long Sleeve T-Shirt, a crew sweatshirt or hoodie, a Santa Hat and Beard. All participants are encouraged to wear their hat and beard (and bells if you have them) in the run/walk, but it is not mandated.
There will be water stops at approximately 1 & 2 miles, that will also include Holiday treats (cookies and candy).
The race will start and end in the parking lot of John F. Kennedy School (800 N. Richards, Spring Valley). The course is accurately measured and will be on paved city streets. The course is mostly flat with a few gentle uphills (in the 5K). Traffic control will be posted at all intersections to keep participants safe. Split times available at every mile.
The race will be electronically timed with results to be posted on the Starved Rock Runners web site.
