Fox Valley Marathon Races @ Downtown

With a full marathon, 20 mile, and half marathon, The Fox Valley Marathon Races is one of Chicagoland’s premier running events. Starting and ending in historic downtown St Charles, IL, the fast, gentle, shaded course winds through picturesque Geneva, Batavia, North Aurora, and Aurora to a spectacular finish across the Fox River that can be seen from over a mile away.

The TBK Quad Cities Marathon, a USATF certified course, captures the essence of our nation’s heartland with its consistent connection to the Mississippi River, amazing views, and Midwest charm.
Rated a fairly flat and fast course, it is a great Boston qualifier!
The race features one of the finest, most scenic river views in the country. It covers 5 races, 4 cities, 3 bridges, 2 states, and 1 island, all along the mighty Mississippi River.
The 26.2 mile run starts and ends at 1201 River Drive in downtown Moline, IL. The event benefits many worthy causes. Our primary cause is prostate cancer research & screening.

Starved Rock Runners Wednesday Night Workouts @ Lock 14 of the I & M Canal
Sep 25 @ 1:34 pm – 2:34 pm

Workouts vary from weeks to week. Groups of different ability levels do different workouts. Meet in the parking lot of Lock 14. The advanced group does a 2 mile warm-up run to Split Rock, performs the scheduled workout for the week (generally intervals), and then does a 2 mile cool down run back to the parking lot. Work out can be up to 8 miles total. Other groups and individuals may do workouts of as little as 2 miles total with some walkers.

Trail is paved for the first mile, and packed gravel for the rest of the distance.

Dayton Bluffs Preserves Trail 5K/10K Run Walk @ Dayton Bluffs Preserve, 2997 Illinois 71

Come run or walk at the 2nd Annual Dayton Bluffs Preserve Trail 5k/10k Run /Walk. This beautiful property is one to be enjoyed by all. This will be a timed Race!

The 253-acre property is owned by The Conservation Foundation and has been designated as a Land & Water Reserve with the Illinois Nature Preserves Commission. The property is leased to the City of Ottawa, maintained with help from the Friends of the Dayton Bluffs, and preserved for wildlife habitat, nature education, and passive recreational uses, and is great for running, hiking, bird-watching or picnicking!

Starting line will take place at Hank’s Farm restaurant lawn.

Join us for the 39th Annual DeKalb Corn Classic 10K & newly added 5K!
​Beginning and ending in Downtown DeKalb, the route will take runners through historical neighborhoods, along the Kishwaukee River via Prairie Park, through NIU’s campus and Huskie Stadium and ending in Van Buer Plaza with a Post Race Celebration!
​On Course Entertainment includes the Huskie Marching Band, NIU Jazz Band and Steelband!

5k & 8k wooded trails – $25 until 8/31 – 15 & under – $15 – also a 1-mile hike – $20 – Registration includes a post-race pancake breakfast. Benefits Easter Seals Central IL. Shirt & bib pickup Friday from 4-6 with location to be provided. Race day registration & packet pickup from 7:30-8:15. Awards to overall male & female plus 1,2,3 in each group up thru 70 and older.

9th Annual Holy Family Shuffle 3-Mile Walk/Run @ Holy Family School

The 9th Annual Holy Family Shuffle is a 3-Mile Walk/Run, starting and finishing at Holy Family School. The course is the same route as the famous Turkey Trot. Entry fee is $20.00 if received on or before 09/27/19 and $25.00 after 09/27/19, including race day. Family special – 4 or more from one family in one envelope (advance only) – $65.00 – limited to immediate family in the same household. A Kids Fun Run is also offered to children for $10 after the 3-Mile race. A free T-shirt is guaranteed to all who pre-register. Please mail registration and check to Holy Family School 336 Alice Ave. Oglesby, IL 61348. Runners are electronically timed. Time and finish line are provided by the Starved Rock Runners, LTD. A water stop is available at mile 2, and free drinks and snacks are provided after the race. Trophies are awarded to the top overall male and female finishers and top overall male and female Holy Family School students. Medals are awarded to the top 3 males and females in each age division. Age divisions include: 9 & under, 10-12, 13-15, 16-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, and 70 & over. Race check in begins at 8:30 a.m. in the school gym on race day, and the race will begin promptly at 9:30 a.m.

Starved Rock Runners Circuit Race , All proceeds benefit the IVCH Foundation .The IVCH Foundation is a not-for-profit corporation established to provide financial support for Illinois Valley Community Hospital and its related health services. A flat and fast 5k. Race date October 12, 2019. Starts at 9am Washington Park in Peru, IL. Awards for overall male female, masters , and age group. Packet pick up from 7:30am-8:45am. $20 before October 9, $25 race day.
