Naplate Pasta Push 5K Run/Walk @ Naplate Village Hall, Naplate, Illinois

3.1 paved course starting and ending near the Naplate Village Hall winding through the streets of Naplate and turn around 1 mile in Ottawa. $20.00 before September 16, $25.00 after and through race day. Proceeds benefit Rick and Vittone Parks in Naplate. Pasta furnished after race by Annes Hine A Way and Casa Mia restaurants in Naplate while supply lasts.

Ottawa Oktoberfest 5K Beer Run/Walk @ Jordan Block, Downtown Ottawa

Start your Saturday night off right with a fun run/walk to benefit Ottawa First, the fireworks group. Afterwards, fill up your 2017 commemorative beer stein with your favorite beer and enjoy the best party in town! Authentic German food will be available for purchase. There will be plenty of live music and Bavarian themed games and contests for everyone to enjoy late Into the night! Awards will be given to the top three male and female finishers in each age group. Special Awards will be given to both the overall top male and female finishers. One extra-special award will be given to the best dressed. – Scenic, flat, out-and-back style course. – Starts and ends in downtown Ottawa at Oktoberfest. – Route includes historic Ottawa Ave. – Ample parking available. – Electronically timed by Racing Expectations. – Water stations near mile markers 1 and 2. – Refreshments served after the race.

Quad Cities Marathon @ Moline, IL

—Saturday, September 23rd, 11:00 AM: Competitive Mile Run & Walk 1:30 PM: Kids MicroMarathon includes a 1-mile, ½ mile and ¼ mile —Sunday, September 24th, Marathon, Half Marathon, and 5-person Full Marathon Relay & 5K (all at 7:30 AM) —-Start and finish downtown Moline, Illinois —5 races, through 4 cities, over 3 bridges, in 2 states, on 1 island, all within the view of the Mighty Mississippi River —Events offered: marathon, half marathon, 5-person relay, 5K run/walk, 1- mile walk. On Saturday, September 23rd there are kids races (1-mile, 1/2 mile, 1/4 mile). —proceeds to benefit US Too! Prostate Cancer Organization of the Quad Cities —all courses are USATF certified, marathon course is a BQ (Boston Qualifier)

Fifth Annual Trinity 5K Run/Walk Shuffle @ Trinity Catholic Academy

Fifth annual Trinity 5K race runs through the streets of scenic LaSalle, starting and finishing at Trinity Catholic Academy. Registration opens at 7am; race time begins at 9am. Race is timed, with awards to top three finishers in age groups, including overall male/female, and first male/female Trinity students. Pre-registration fee guaranteeing race shirt is $20; race day registration is $25. Proceeds benefit Trinity’s classroom door/lock security upgrades.

Run the Woods 5k, 8k trail run, & 1 mile walk @ The Timber Pointe Outdoor Center

Run the Woods is a unique run that takes place on the trails surrounding the Easterseals Camp at Timber Pointe. The beautiful setting, right on Lake Bloomington, draws over 200 runners and is included on the Lake Run Club’s circuit. A 5K and 8K option are both offered, as well as a 1-mile hike. All runners receive a long-sleeved T-shirt and post-race pancake breakfast with registration. Enjoy the beautiful outdoors, while supporting the kids at Timber Pointe Outdoor Center. Register today! Early packet pickup is available from 4-6 p.m. on October 6 at Often Running in Normal. Packet pickup is available on race day from 7:30-8:45 a.m. Start time 9am.

7th Annual Holy Family Shuffle @ Holy Family School
Oct 7 @ 9:30 am

The Holy Family Shuffle is a 3 mile course that runs the same route as the famous Turkey through the streets of Oglesby. Runners are electronically timed. Mile splits are provided, and there is one water station at mile 2. Cost is $20.00 if registered by 09/29/17 and $25.00 after 09/29/17, including race day. Pre-registered runners are guaranteed a T-shirt. Family special-4 or more from one family in one envelope (ADVANCE only-must be received by 09/29/17)- $65.00-limited to immediate family in the same household. There will be free drinks and snacks after the race as well as a kids fun run. Kids fun run is $10 & includes a T-shirt if pre-registered. Check in begins at 8:30 a.m. in the school gym. Please mail registration and check to Holy Family School. Awards will be given to the top overall male and female finishers, the top Holy Family School students, male and female, and the top 3 in each age division. Age Divisions include: 9 & under, 10-12, 13-15, 16-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, and 70 & over.

Connie Dzierzynski Skerston Memorial 5K Run/Walk Scholarship Fundraiser @ IVCC campus

This 3rd annual event honors the memory of Connie Dzierzynski Skerston, who passed away unexpectedly from a brain aneurysm at the age of 45 on March 5th 2015. Connie enthusiastically served Illinois Valley Community College (IVCC) for 16 years in administration. A scholarship has been founded in her name to preserve her educational legacy and passion for working with and helping young minds in the Illinois Valley. 100 percent of the entry fee goes to the scholarship fund. The race begins and ends on the campus of IVCC and will include a mixed running surface. Registration fee is $25.00 if received by 10/7 ($30.00 after 10/7). Fee includes a T-Shirt, water and light snacks. T-Shirt & size guaranteed if entry is received before 10/7. Early packet pick up on 10/13 from 11:00am-2:00pm at IVCC main entrance. Race day registration and packet pick up is from 8:00-9:30am. Timing by Starved Rock Runners, Ltd. Awards for top three male and female finishers in 12 age brackets. There will also be an Untimed 1.5 Mile “Walk In Connie’s Steps” event for non-runners. You can register & pay on-line at www.RunRace.net There is a $1,000 cash giveaway going on now, before the race. $20 per ticket and only 100 tickets will be sold (If interested in a ticket call). Drawing held day of the race 10/14/17 (you need not be present to win). There will also be a Silent Auction going on during the event for numerous items.
