This is the third year of our new course layout and our 9th year overall and we couldn’t be happier about our fun yet challenging course. This is a Certified Course will USATF and mapped out by John Steele of SRRC. Yes we have hills but you get them out of the way prior to the 2 mile mark. We have splits at Miles 1 & 2 and 2 water stops. Registration is available now online at racesonline.com/events/9th-annual-depue-celebration-5k-run-walk. If you register prior to July 19, 2019 cost is $20 after that and including race day until 7:45am cost is $25. Packet pick up will be prior to race on day of event. Once again D&M Road Race Scoring will be our timing company and they now have chip timing. We have awards in Overall Male and Female, DePue Male and Female and Top 3 to each of 14 different age categories from 9 and under, 10 – 13, 14 – 19, 20 – 24, 25 – 29, 30 – 34, 35 – 39, 40 – 44, 45 – 49, 50 – 54, 55 – 59, 60 – 64, 70 and over. We will be offering water, bananas, oranges and adding for this year some cookies for the post race goodies. The DePue Men’s Club is proud once again to be the main sponsor and we invite all participants and fans to join us at Lakeside to view the fastest sport on the water the weekend of July 26-28 2019. The 2019 National Championship Boat Races. The DePue Men’s Club is a 501C3 charity organization and all profits made are given back to the community.
OSF HealthCare Saint Paul Medical Center presents the 12th Annual CORNAPALOOZA! The race starts & ends at Lake Mendota. Race participants should follow signs and enter Lake Mendota property from Route 251/52 & Tom Merwin Drive. Follow signage for designated parking. The course will take you west outside of Mendota to take on the rolling hills & sights of rural Mendota. 10K course will include a 1-mile stretch of compacted gravel road. Runners will experience a mile or more of Lake Kakusha Trail! CORNAPALOOZA 10K is a Starved Rock Runners Ltd. Circuit Race • Pre-registration / Registration Opens at 6:30 a.m. • Race starts at 8:00 a.m. • Official Cornapalooza T-shirt for participants (size nor shirt guaranteed for late registrants) • 5K & 10K USATF Certified Courses (10k is a Starved Rock Runner Circuit Race) • Awards will be presented to the 1st overall male & female runners in the 5K & 10K runs. 1st through 3rd places will be awarded medals in each age group. All 14 & under receive participation ribbons. All traffic control & water stations will be pulled from roads as last runner passes or when 10K reaches 1 ½ hours. Not responsible for late starters on the course. NO double wide strollers allowed.
Benefits the Illinois Valley Alzheimer’s Group who provide free programs for families who are caring for loved ones, give donations to Nursing Homes with Alzheimer’s units and give donations to research.
The run is a USA Track & Field certified course (recertification pending) Record eligible.

Pre-registered racers can pick up their Race Packets at the Bureau County Metro Center on Friday, September 6th, from 12pm – 6pm. Day-of registration and packet pick-up begins at 7am, at the Bureau County Metro Center. The Kiddy Fun Run begins at 8am, with the 5k starting at 8:30am. The race begins and ends at the Bureau County Metro Center. The course includes 3 water stations with Splits at miles 1 and 2. Enjoy beautiful scenery and a challenging course. All pre-registered race and walk participants will receive a race T-Shirt. T-shirts available for day of registrants, while supplies last. Post race announcement of winners and award presentations. Refreshments and Showers available to all participants. Special awards will be given to Overall Top Male & Overall Top Female, as well as Top Male & Female from Princeton. Medals will be given to the top 3 finishers in each age group.
Join us for the 40th year celebration of the DHD 5k! There will be raffles, prizes, food and much more!
Awards will be given to the top Overall Race Champions, Top Dwight Runners and Top Finishers in each age group for both males and females*. (one award per person) All 5K and Fun Run/Walk participants who finish will also receive a special gift to remember their accomplishment.

THE COURSE: The course is flat and fast utilizing residential streets with police traffic control. It is well marked with signs and painted streets. Accurate splits at 1 and 2 miles with water at the second mile. Restrooms are available for men and women. USA Track & Field Certification #IL12160JW
THE GOODIES: Participants will receive a short sleeve T-shirt and will enjoy a variety of refreshments after the race. This year’s shirt has another unique multi-color design.

The TBK Quad Cities Marathon, a USATF certified course, captures the essence of our nation’s heartland with its consistent connection to the Mississippi River, amazing views, and Midwest charm.
Rated a fairly flat and fast course, it is a great Boston qualifier!
The race features one of the finest, most scenic river views in the country. It covers 5 races, 4 cities, 3 bridges, 2 states, and 1 island, all along the mighty Mississippi River.
The 26.2 mile run starts and ends at 1201 River Drive in downtown Moline, IL. The event benefits many worthy causes. Our primary cause is prostate cancer research & screening.
The Half Marathon is a Starved Rock Runner Circuit Race
Join us for the 39th Annual DeKalb Corn Classic 10K & newly added 5K!
Beginning and ending in Downtown DeKalb, the route will take runners through historical neighborhoods, along the Kishwaukee River via Prairie Park, through NIU’s campus and Huskie Stadium and ending in Van Buer Plaza with a Post Race Celebration!
On Course Entertainment includes the Huskie Marching Band, NIU Jazz Band and Steelband!
Starved Rock Runners Circuit Race , All proceeds benefit the IVCH Foundation .The IVCH Foundation is a not-for-profit corporation established to provide financial support for Illinois Valley Community Hospital and its related health services. A flat and fast 5k. Race date October 12, 2019. Starts at 9am Washington Park in Peru, IL. Awards for overall male female, masters , and age group. Packet pick up from 7:30am-8:45am. $20 before October 9, $25 race day.
The Final Canal Connection 10K
Starved Rock Runners, Ltd. announces that due to unforeseen circumstances, the Canal Connection 10K, held in Utica, IL, will be run for the last time on November 3rd, 2019.
For 37 years this unique and iconic event, which is ran on 4.2 miles of the I-M Canal Towpath, featuring rock formations and autumn scenery, which is presented by Starved Rock Runners, Ltd., is part of the race circuits of Starved Rock Runners, Ltd., Lake Run Club, Illinois Valley Striders, and Springfield Road Runners Club.
In order to use the canal, an Activity Permit needs to be submitted for approval, along with a Permit to Sell document, which states since the event has a registration fee then Starved Rock Runners, Ltd. would agree then to pay a fee equal to 10% of total gross sales for using the Canal. The payment is due at the close of the final day of the event. In the past, the Permit to Sell fee was waived for a non-profit organization.
However this year, the Activity Permit was approved but the Permit to Sell fee waiver was denied, meaning now a 10 percent permit to sell fee for Canal Connection is requested, which Starved Rock Runners, Ltd. decided will pay only to have the final event this November.
It is a shame that this fee was not waived, as Starved Rock Runners, Ltd. proceeds are put back into the community and money is also spent by the participants after the event is over in the community. Proceeds from the event after expenses minus now the 10% fee will either cause the event to maybe break even, but also could cause a loss to Starved Rock Runners, Ltd.
Other circumstances is the upcoming sale of one of the two schools the event uses. The school can be used for the 2019 event but not after, meaning that a new venue would need to be found. This could mean a change in the course, buses, basically a revamp of this unique event.
Please spread the word to the running community of the Final Canal Connection 10K on November 3rd, 2019 so all runners can experience this one of a kind event, one last time.

New this year: the first 400 pre-registered runners are guaranteed a 1/4 zip pullover shirt. Race day registration and packet pick up will take place at the Waltham South Elementary School in Utica beginning at 7:30am and ending at 9:00am. Buses will begin to leave Utica at 8:00am with the last bus leaving at 9:15am to transport runners to the starting line at LP High School. ALL RUNNERS MUST REGISTER IN UTICA. Bag check service available. This USATF Certified course is chip times and features a downhill slope for the first .75 miles and the next 4.2 miles is flat unpaved surface of the I&M canal tow path. The race finishes on paved streets in Utica. Post race party with food and beverages at Waltham School in Utica. Split times are available at every mile. There will be two water stations and emergency crew covering the entire course. There is a 2 hour time limit to finish this 10K.
Santas On The Run benefits the Hall Township Food Pantry. You can run this 5K for time, or you can do it partake in the Holiday spirit. Preregistration includes your choice of a Red: Long Sleeve T-Shirt, a crew sweatshirt or hoodie, a Santa Hat and Beard. All participants are encouraged to wear their hat and beard (and bells if you have them) in the run/walk, but it is not mandated.
There will be water stops at approximately 1 & 2 miles, that will also include Holiday treats (cookies and candy).
The race will start and end in the parking lot of John F. Kennedy School (800 N. Richards, Spring Valley). The course is accurately measured and will be on paved city streets. The course is mostly flat with a few gentle uphills (in the 5K). Traffic control will be posted at all intersections to keep participants safe. Split times available at every mile.
The race will be electronically timed with results to be posted on the Starved Rock Runners web site.
As an added bonus, for each two non-perishable item an entrant brings to donate to the food pantry, their names will be entered into a raffle to be held after the race, with chances to win gift certificates and prizes from race sponsors.The more items you donate, the better your chances of winning (watch the web site as the list of potential winnings grows).
Awards will be given to the overall Male and Female finishers, as well as the top three finishers (Male and Female), in each of the following age groups: 9 & under, 10-14, 15-19, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69 and 70 and over.
Packet pick up and race day registration will be available from 8:30AM until 9:30AM at John F Kennedy School. Day of registration is not guaranteed a shirt.
