Starved Rock Runners Wednesday Night Workouts @ Lock 14 of the I & M Canal

Workouts vary from weeks to week. Groups of different ability levels do different workouts. Meet in the parking lot of Lock 14. The advanced group does a 2 mile warm-up run to Split Rock, performs the scheduled workout for the week (generally intervals), and then does a 2 mile cool down run back to the parking lot. Work out can be up to 8 miles total. Other groups and individuals may do workouts of as little as 2 miles total with some walkers.

Trail is paved for the first mile, and packed gravel for the rest of the distance.

Dwight Harvest Days 5k @ Renfrew Park-North Pavillion Dwight, IL

Join us for the 40th year celebration of the DHD 5k! There will be raffles, prizes, food and much more!
Awards will be given to the top Overall Race Champions, Top Dwight Runners and Top Finishers in each age group for both males and females*. (one award per person) All 5K and Fun Run/Walk participants who finish will also receive a special gift to remember their accomplishment.
* Awards for Top Finishers will be given 4 deep in all age categories.
AGE GROUPS: 14 & under, 15-19, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59,
60-64, 65-69, 70-74, 75 & over 5-79, 80-84
THE COURSE: The course is flat and fast utilizing residential streets with police traffic control. It is well marked with signs and painted streets. Accurate splits at 1 and 2 miles with water at the second mile. Restrooms are available for men and women. USA Track & Field Certification #IL12160JW
THE GOODIES: Participants will receive a short sleeve T-shirt and will enjoy a variety of refreshments after the race. This year’s shirt has another unique multi-color design.

PACKET PICKUP: Packet Pick-up will be between 7:00 – 8:15 the day of the race at the North Pavilion.

TBK Quad Cities Marathon @ John Deere Commons

The TBK Quad Cities Marathon, a USATF certified course, captures the essence of our nation’s heartland with its consistent connection to the Mississippi River, amazing views, and Midwest charm.
Rated a fairly flat and fast course, it is a great Boston qualifier!
The race features one of the finest, most scenic river views in the country. It covers 5 races, 4 cities, 3 bridges, 2 states, and 1 island, all along the mighty Mississippi River.
The 26.2 mile run starts and ends at 1201 River Drive in downtown Moline, IL. The event benefits many worthy causes. Our primary cause is prostate cancer research & screening.

Join us for the 39th Annual DeKalb Corn Classic 10K & newly added 5K!
​Beginning and ending in Downtown DeKalb, the route will take runners through historical neighborhoods, along the Kishwaukee River via Prairie Park, through NIU’s campus and Huskie Stadium and ending in Van Buer Plaza with a Post Race Celebration!
​On Course Entertainment includes the Huskie Marching Band, NIU Jazz Band and Steelband!

Starved Rock Runners Circuit Race , All proceeds benefit the IVCH Foundation .The IVCH Foundation is a not-for-profit corporation established to provide financial support for Illinois Valley Community Hospital and its related health services. A flat and fast 5k. Race date October 12, 2019. Starts at 9am Washington Park in Peru, IL. Awards for overall male female, masters , and age group. Packet pick up from 7:30am-8:45am. $20 before October 9, $25 race day.
